Nike Air Huarache Drift Shoes
The Nike Air Huarache is named after the Mexican sandal, with this in mind Nike set out to strip a shoe back to its bare minimum for optimal comfort and functionality. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and released in 1991, initially the Nike Air Huarache drew many critics, Nike included. But after being tested by runners in the New York marathon, the shoe was nothing but praised.
The Nike Air Huarache Drift seeks to emulate the design of the original, now retooled and aesthetically modified in a street-wear edition. By uniting the successfully engineered elements from its original era, with a newly established customisable lacing system that lets you wear it in different ways to suit your taste.
This retooled edition is packed with new features, including: Textile bootie with film overlays which are snug and flexible, flywire cables that interact with laces for a secure lockdown on your foot, elastic heel strap and midfoot cage for heightened support and that classic Huarache look, foam sole with encapsulated Nike Air Cushioning, an outsole consisting of durable rubber on the heel and forefoot and all finished in this fresh Sequoia/Black/White/Light Bone colour way.
