The Foam October Caddis Skater was originally designed for trout, but is also effective with steelhead. Cast up stream like you would a dry then allow it to swing towards the bank at the end in a skating fashion. Also effective casting 45 degrees downstream and making a twitching or jigging motion as it comes across the surface.  Designed by Mike Mercer
